The easiest way to explain what Web 2.0 is would be to look at popular sites controlling the internet today. Sites such as MySpace, FaceBook and Flickr allow individuals to do much more than retrieve information. This new Web 2.0 nickname doesn’t necessarily mean technical advances have occurred within the internet itself, but rather the way programmers are utilizing the web today. For example, Web 1.0 used sites such as Britannica Online and Ofoto were later replaced by Web 2.0 sites such as Wikipedia and Flickr.
