About Us - Newsletter01/13/10 Political Campaign Tips!It is that time of year again! Yes, you guessed it, campaign season….. But how on earth are you going to have a successful campaign this time around?? Well, luckily for you, we have a couple of quick tips to help you get on the right track. Political Sign Tips1. Consider the length of your name (If your name is common, make sure to use both your first and last name) and the position (make sure it is recognizable such as Mayor or City Council) you are running for. These are two important factors in determining the type of sign you are going to want to use. This information also distinguishes what size you are going to need, check with your city ordinance to make sure there isn’t a law that requires them to stay within a specific dimension.2. Slogans are great but are not needed on yard signs as most people will not have enough time to read them when passing by. 3. Do not forget to make room for your disclaimer. It is your responsibility to find out what the size and wording should be from your state election board. 4. Make sure to include “Re-elect” if you are running for another term. General Campaign Tips1. Manage your budget! Nothing can be more embarrassing than running out of funds in the middle of your campaign. Also, do not rely on specific amounts of domains you may get, as they don’t always come through.2. When speaking with the general public, you have one of two options – using a podium or not. Using a podium expresses a more formal feel and should be used when discussing important topics where as not using a podium gives off a more informal feel. Not using a podium is wise if you are representing yourself as someone who is down to earth or relaxed. 3. When answering questions, make sure to focus your answers on the voters, not you. 4. Quality, not quantity – condense campaign communication to increase impact. Target your audience and don’t try and sell everyone the same way, focus on your message and tailor it to specific audiences. |
